Tau Beta Pi is the oldest national engineering society in the United States honoring engineering students who exemplify in academic achievement as well as character. A Tau Beta Pi member will also show a commitment to personal and professional integrity. Tau Beta Pi offers many benefits for student members as a national organization including undergraduate scholarships, fellowships, student loans and financial assistance, career assistance, and much more.
Undergraduate juniors who rank in the top eighth of their class and seniors who rank in the top fifth of their class are invited for membership in Tau Beta Pi. Invitations are sent out at the beginning of each semester to qualified students. These members must then show character and commitment throughout the semester by going to events and participating in Tau Beta Pi activities. Near the end of the semester these candidates are elected for membership by current chapter members.
